Install PurlNote on your phone
Getting started
How do I save a link?
Open your library, paste a link into the box at the top, add a quick note if you like, and select Save link.
PurlNote saves the link right away, then reads the page in the background and adds a title, summary, topic and tags. It usually takes a few seconds.
What kinds of links can I save?
Any public web address: articles, recipes, YouTube videos and Shorts, Instagram and TikTok posts, Facebook and LinkedIn posts, Pinterest pins, product pages, and more.
PurlNote can only read what a page shares publicly. It doesn’t sign in to sites for you, read private posts, or watch full videos.
How does the AI organize my links?
When you save a link, PurlNote looks at the page title, description, available public text, any thumbnail, and your note. It then suggests a short summary, a broad topic such as Technology or Travel, and more specific tags.
Topics stay general on purpose: a graphics card review that shows a video game goes under Technology, with the game as a tag.
You can change anything it suggests. Open the item and edit the title, summary, topic, tags, note or locations.
How do I put PurlNote on my phone?
Visit purlnote.com/install for the phone setup guide. Android Chrome may also show an Install PurlNote button there.
Android: install PurlNote in Chrome, then open its home-screen icon and sign in. In another app, choose Share, then PurlNote. Some apps put the system share menu under More. Wait for Saved before leaving.
iPhone: open purlnote.com in Safari, choose Share, then Add to Home Screen. This adds the web app to your phone but does not add PurlNote to other apps’ share menus. Copy and paste links for now; a native iPhone Share Extension is planned.
Saving requires an internet connection. If a save fails, keep the share page open and tap Try again after reconnecting. Offline queuing is not available yet.
Why should I add a note?
A note helps PurlNote, and you, remember why you saved something. It matters most for social posts with no caption, where the AI has very little to go on.
Notes are also searchable, so “the pasta my sister recommended” will find it later.
Organizing and finding
How do I create my own topics?
In your library, under Explore by topic, select Create a topic. Give it a name and describe what belongs there, for example “Weeknight dinners: quick recipes under 30 minutes”.
PurlNote uses your description when sorting new links. Free includes 5 custom topics; Pro includes unlimited custom topics.
What is the Sources list?
Sources group your saves by where they came from, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or LinkedIn. They appear automatically as you save links. Select one to filter your library.
How does search work?
Search by words & meaning finds links by what they’re about, not just exact words. You can search for “that mountain getaway” even if the post never used those words.
You can also switch to keyword search, and filter by topic, source, and date (past week, past month, or any time).
How do favorites and Trash work?
Select the heart on any item to add it to Your favorites.
To remove a link, open it and select Move to Trash. Items in Trash don’t count toward your plan’s saved-link limit, and you can restore them at any time from Trash.
Plans and billing
What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
Free: 100 saved links, 5 custom topics, AI sorting and summaries, and search by words and meaning.
Pro: 5,000 saved links, unlimited custom topics, browser bookmark import, and CSV and JSON export, for US$5 a month or US$48 a year.
Both plans have daily limits on AI processing to keep the service fast for everyone.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Plans, choose monthly or yearly, and complete checkout. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; PurlNote never sees your full card number. Pro turns on as soon as the payment is confirmed.
How do I cancel Pro?
Open the account menu in your library and select Your plan & billing, then manage your subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
What happens to my links if I go back to Free?
Nothing is deleted. All your links stay available to view, search and edit. While you have more than the Free limits, adding new saves or topics is paused. Move links to Trash or upgrade again to make room.
I have a question about a charge or a refund.
Email billing@purlnote.com, or send a ticket below and choose Billing or my plan. Include the email address on your account, but never your card number.
Importing and exporting
How do I import my Chrome or Edge bookmarks?
Bookmark import is a Pro feature. In Chrome or Edge, open the bookmark manager and export your bookmarks as an HTML file. Then in PurlNote, open Import bookmarks and choose that file.
PurlNote keeps each original address, title, folder and saved date, skips duplicates, and organizes everything in the background. You can close the page while it works.
Are there limits on imports?
Files can be up to 20 MB with up to 5,000 bookmarks. PurlNote organizes up to 500 imported links a day, so large imports continue over several days. Imports count toward Pro’s 5,000 saved links.
How do I export my library?
Pro members can download their library as CSV (for spreadsheets) or JSON from the account menu or Your plan & billing.
Account and privacy
How can I sign in?
With an email address and password, or with your Google or Microsoft account. Apple sign-in is coming soon.
I didn’t get my confirmation email.
Confirmation emails come from no-reply@purlnote.com. Check your spam or promotions folder, and open the link in the same browser you used to sign up. If it still hasn’t arrived after 10 minutes, send us a ticket.
I forgot my password.
Self-service password reset is coming soon. Until then, send a ticket below from the email address on your account, and we’ll help you get back in. If you signed up with Google or Microsoft, use that button instead. You don’t have a separate PurlNote password.
How do I delete my account?
Send a ticket below from the email address on your account and choose Signing in or my account. We’ll confirm, cancel any subscription, and delete your account and library.
Who can see my library?
Only you. Your library is private to your account. Saved content is processed by our AI provider to organize and search it, as described in our Privacy notice.
Troubleshooting
Why is an item marked Needs review?
PurlNote couldn’t learn enough from the link on its own. This often happens with private or sign-in-only pages, or with social posts that have no caption.
Select the strip at the bottom of the card to add a title or a quick note. PurlNote will use it to sort the item.
An Instagram or TikTok link has no thumbnail or the wrong topic.
Some social posts share very little publicly, and preview images can expire. Add a short note describing the post. Then open the item and choose Refresh the suggested details.
The AI put a link in the wrong topic.
Open the item and change the topic yourself. Your edit always wins. For a better fit next time, create a custom topic with a clear description.
It says I’ve reached a limit.
You’ve either reached your plan’s saved-link limit or today’s AI processing limit. Daily limits reset the next day. For more room, move older links to Trash or upgrade to Pro.
Send us a request.
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll reply by email. You’ll get a request number right away.
- For billing, include the email address on your account.
- For a link that won’t save, paste the link in your message.
- Never send passwords or card numbers.
